Mazda Road Trip

It is officially road trip season!  With the world opening back up again, going on a road trip is an excellent way to celebrate and spend time with your loved ones.

Have a Plan

The first step is figuring out where exactly you want to go.  Do some research on places that have fun water parks, roadside attractions, amusement parks, national parks, or even historical sites to enjoy, either on the way or when you get there!  Plan your route through a mapping app on a navigation system, or your smartphone.  Plan your budget and stick to it.  It is equally as important to be sure that you have all proper documentation and insurance up to date for any emergency reasons.

Pack the Essentials

While packing your vehicle for your road trip, there are many items that you may want to bring on your vacation.  However, there are some essentials you should definitely pack.  A first aid kit is extremely important!  If you are looking at hiking or camping along the way, having a fully stocked first aid kit is perfect for any accidents that may happen.  A roadside assistance kit is also crucial to have in your vehicle for any vehicle-related emergencies.  It should include jumper cables, a tow rope, and a flashlight to name just a few essential items.  Other important items might include maps, extra phone chargers, and bottled water to keep yourself hydrated in the car.

Make Sure the Kids are Entertained

If you are having a family-centered road trip, keeping the kids entertained will give you peace of mind!  Packing easy crafts or tablets loaded with educational apps are great for younger kids.  Movies and headphones are also good options to help kids stay entertained.  Packing a cooler with low-sugar beverages and waters, plus bringing a variety of mess-free snacks, like granola bars and snack mixes, is a great idea.

Get Your Vehicle Ready

Most importantly, your Mazda vehicle should be serviced before taking a road trip.  Tires, fluids, brakes, and your oil should all be checked and replaced, if needed.  Our knowledgeable service techs from Thelen Mazda in Bay City, Michigan, can assist you with any of your vehicle repair or routine maintenence needs.  Or, if you are searching for the perfect vehicle for your road trip, our staff can help you find the best option!  Give us a call or stop into our Mid-Michigan dealership today to view our inventory.
