Meet Our Staff

He has been part of the family business since he was a teenager, worked for the company for 46 years, spending time in every department, except the Body Shop. My wonderful wife Kerry Thelen is a nurse practitioner. We have three beautiful daughters and two step sons: Kristina, who is a Speech Pathologist; Melissa, who serves as the General Manager of our Finance company; Hannah, who has been the Service Manager at our Honda store for 2 years and currently manages our warranty department at our Finance company; Drew, an engineer; and Eric, the purchasing manager for Falcon Industries. I am very proud of all their accomplishments. We love to spend time with our 4 grandchildren Grayson, Gavin, Rylan, and Payton. I have a degree from Northwood University in marketing and have sat on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Automobile Dealers Association, the Bay City YMCA, and Northwood University's board of International Marketing. In 2014 I received Northwood University's Dealer Educator of the year award. I enjoy spending time on my boat in the summer with the entire family. We are committed to customer service and believe in always doing the right thing for our customers and employees.

Hi, I’m Clay Bonham, a dedicated car sales professional at Thelen Audi, Volkswagen, Mazda, and Subaru in Bay City, Michigan. Before moving to Bay City a year ago, I spent 7 years as an auto mechanic, honing my skills with brands like Porsche, Subaru, and Toyota. This hands-on experience gives me a deep understanding of cars, from performance and reliability to long-term maintenance. Now, I bring that expertise to my role in sales, helping customers find vehicles that fit their needs and lifestyle. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors and restoring old motorcycles and ATVs. Whether it’s fixing up a classic or exploring new trails, I love combining my technical skills with my passion for adventure. Danielle oversees the Internet & Marketing department, plus crunches the numbers for Thelen Auto Group to make the magic happen. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is also an avid reader, who is just waiting on her Hogwarts letter!
