Temperature changes can cause tire pressure to drop about 1 psi for every 10 degree drop in air temperature.
As winter approaches and the temperature drops, the air becomes denser and consequently lowers the tire pressure.
As a general rule, check the tire pressure monthly. If the light comes on in colder temperatures, often driving a few miles the tires will warm up, and will possibly turn off the light.
