2024 Mazda CX-50 Compared to the 2023 Mazda CX-50

2024 Mazda CX-50 Compared to the 2023 Mazda CX-50

2024 Mazda CX-50 vs. 2023 Mazda CX-50

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is the second iteration of the upgraded crossover SUV based on the Mazda CX-5. Introduced in the 2023 model year to offer adventurous mid-Michigan drivers another option to add luxury to their most exciting journeys, this vehicle doesn’t disappoint. When compared to the initial 2023 Mazda CX-50, the alterations to the new model year are minimal. This primarily comes in the form of having various interior amenities available as standard features in more trim levels.

Performance

  • Powertrains Carried Directly Over from 2023MY CX-50 to 2024MY

  • Standard AWD Remains the Dependable Drivetrain for the CX-50

  • Suspension Improvements for Even Greater Handling Precision

Both engines available in the 2024 Mazda CX-50 are directly carried over from the 2023 model year of the family cruiser. The standard 2.5L SKYACTIV®-G engine delivers 186 horsepower of pure enjoyment, while the turbocharged iteration elevates the overall performance to 256. Every CX-50 remains equipped with the excellent i-Activ® AWD platform to encourage even the most adventurous drivers to experience mid-Michigan in a satisfying manner. For the new version of the CX-50, Mazda has tuned the suspension even more to improve steering capabilities even further.

Interior Features

  • Standard Base Equipment Remains Unchanged Between the Two CX-50 Model Years

  • Certain Amenities Become Standard Inclusions on More Trim Levels in the 2024 CX-50

When looking at the base trim level of either CX-50, interested customers will find them to be similarly luxurious and spacious. They also share the same quality amenities that make them coveted everyday cruisers in mid-Michigan. However, certain premium features become standard in more trims of the 2024 Mazda CX-50. For example, a wireless smartphone charger and the deluxe Bose® 12-speaker sound system are now included in models starting with the Premium trim. In the 2023 model year of the Mazda crossover SUV, these were reserved for the highest trim levels.

Safety Features

  • No Changes in Driver-Assistance Features for the 2024MY CX-50

  • Standard AWD Means Navigating Mid-Michigan is a Consistently Safe Experience

Going from the 2023 CX-50 to the 2024 version of the vehicle, drivers will get to have the same excellent array of driver-assistance features available to them for any driving situation. Although the CX-50 was made to be the off-roading specialist version of the CX-5, it still offers all the features one could want for everyday Michigan driving. This includes standard Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Departure Warning to cater to busy city traffic. With standard AWD remaining the sole drivetrain for the CX-50, elevated maneuverability in any weather condition is assured for confidence.
