Every trim level of the 2020 Mazda CX-9 comes standard with the SkyActiv®-G 2.5T engine. This 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine cranks out 250 horsepower with premium gasoline. The FWD model of the base Sport trim has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 22 MPG city/28 MPG highway, making the CX-9 both economical and powerful. The AWD variant of the base model is listed at an estimated 20 MPG city/26 MPG highway fuel economy.
