Producing 186 horsepower, the 2020 Mazda3 is a zippy and exhilarating vehicle. This same engine is now the mid-line engine for the 2021 Mazda3, joining a new selection for drivers to choose from based on trim level. The new baseline engine for the 2021 Mazda3 is a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that generates 155 horsepower and is FWD only. The models featuring the 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder can have the optional AWD drivetrain equipped. For the deluxe engine choice, the performance of the turbocharged 2.5L engine gets further enhanced to an astounding 250 horsepower. Models fitted with this engine can also be either FWD or AWD.

Exterior & Interior Features

The interior and exterior of the 2021 family of Mazda3 vehicles have had their standard equipment shifted around the different trims to create an excellent experience behind the wheel while maintaining its budget-friendly nature. For example, the Preferred trim now has a power sunroof included, which is a functional addition to the 2021 Mazda3. The trim has its standard SiriusXM® radio and Bose® 12-speaker sound system shifted to the upper two levels of the 2021. In the base version of both years, everything infotainment-related is easily accessible from the 8.8-inch display of the multimedia system.

Safety Features

The safety offerings for both the 2020 and 2021 Mazda3 vehicles are similar, making them equally reliable for drivers of any skill level. Standard on both model years is the combination of Lane Departure Warning and Lane-Keep Assist to help keep drivers from accidentally leaving their current lane and reduce the accident chances as a result. Both years also share Automated Emergency Braking with added Pedestrian Detection to ensure the road in front of the Mazda3 is being actively monitored to keep everyone in the sedan or hatchback safe.
